Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, the former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress,APC.
The announcement was made on Monday during a press briefing at his office in Ikeja, Lagos, just weeks after he resigned from the PDP.
Jandor explained that his decision to leave the PDP was due to internal conflicts and a lack of discipline within the party.
He expressed his disappointment with the PDP’s failure to address anti-party activities during the 2023 elections.
In his address, Jandor said, “Our experience in the PDP was marked by working alongside political saboteurs, but we are determined to focus on a brighter future rather than dwell on past grievances.”
After consulting with family, political allies, and well-wishers from various political parties, including the Social Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress , and the Young Progressive Party, Jandor emphasized that his decision to rejoin the APC stemmed from the party’s strong commitment to winning elections and prioritizing the welfare and development of the people.
“Our primary goal as a political party should be to win elections and form a government that works for the people’s welfare and security. After careful consideration, we have decided to return to a party that places winning above all else,” he stated.

Responding to questions about his previous departure from the APC, Jandor drew on a Yoruba proverb to explain his change of heart, saying, “If a woman has not tried two husbands, she may not know which one is better.”
He acknowledged that while the APC might have flaws, its leadership, led by President Bola Tinubu, consistently works toward victory for the party.
In contrast, he criticized the PDP in Lagos for its internal sabotage, particularly during election seasons, which he claims undermines the party’s efforts.
Jandor also credited President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, for their role in persuading him to return to the APC.
He expressed his appreciation, stating, “I am deeply grateful to President Tinubu, who acknowledged our contributions to democracy, and to Femi Gbajabiamila, who has tirelessly encouraged me to rejoin the APC.”
Furthermore, Jandor disclosed that upon learning of his resignation from the PDP, Seyi Tinubu personally reached out, urging him to “come back home.”
In closing, Jandor assured his supporters that his decision was made with the best interests of Lagos at heart.
“We are committed to the values of service, integrity, and progress. Together, we will continue to work for a better Lagos,” he concluded.
