The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has forwarded the list of members of his cabinet to the State House of Assembly on Friday.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile said the list consists 39 names with 30% women, youths, technocrats and politicians in a Twitter post.

Credible News reports that the President and Governors of each State are mandated by the Constitution to send a list of cabinet members to the legislature within 60 days of taking the oath of office for ratification. And today makes it 60 days since the President and Governors from the last election were sworn in.

Credible News recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the Lagos governorship election in March after polling 762,134 votes to win the election for a second term of four years.

The Labour Party came second with 312,329 votes, while the Peoples’ Democratic Party trailed in third place with 62,449 votes.

In June, the Governor appointed a lawyer, Bimbo Salu-Hundeyin as the Secretary to the State Government. Tayo Ayinde and Gboyega Soyannwo were appointed as Chief of staff and Deputy Chief of Staff respectively.

Jubril Gawat and Wale Ajetunmobi were also reappointed as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor of media.

Sanwo-Olu also promised to do more for Lagos residents in his second term, saying his administration has provided investment in the education sector which “have continued to yield the desired outcome through the good performance of Lagos state public school students”.
