The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality education through tech-powered teaching and improved support for teachers across Nigeria.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Dr. Ronke Soyombo, the newly appointed Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, laid out her vision for modernising the education sector in line with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
Dr. Soyombo said the TRCN would collaborate with education stakeholders to implement student-centred, digital learning strategies aimed at transforming classrooms and empowering teachers.
“Our goal is to ensure teachers are trained in effective use of technology to deliver world-class education,” she stated. “We will equip them with tools and strategies to improve classroom delivery and student engagement.”

She said TRCN would focus on inclusive programmes to ensure all teachers, regardless of their location, are carried along in the transformation journey.
In addition to promoting tech-enabled learning, Soyombo said TRCN would work closely with teachers’ unions and state teaching service boards to improve conditions of service and strengthen the profession nationwide.
“We aim to uplift the teaching profession by ensuring our educators are well-supported and motivated to perform at the highest level,” she added.
The initiative is expected to enhance both teaching quality and learning outcomes in schools, aligning with the Federal Government’s broader education reform goals.
