In the early hours of Friday, a collision between a Toyota Camry (SMK 436 GB) and a Mercedes-Benz truck (AKD G43 XM) near the Magboro area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has brought the morning commute to a standstill. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.

The accident unfolded around 8:10 am, just before the Magboro bus stop. The Toyota Camry, en route to Ibadan, found itself in an unexpected encounter with a Mercedes-Benz truck attempting to merge onto the road. The resulting collision has created a scene of chaos, with both vehicles bearing the brunt of the impact.

Despite the intensity of the collision, the silver lining emerges as reports confirm that there were no casualties. Emergency response teams were swift in their actions, ensuring the safety of those involved.

However, the aftermath of the collision extends beyond the immediate scene. The inbound Ibadan lane of the expressway is now grappling with heavy traffic congestion, causing delays for commuters heading towards their destinations.

As authorities work to clear the wreckage and restore normalcy to the affected stretch of the expressway, motorists are advised to exercise patience and caution when navigating through the area. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the unpredictable nature of morning commutes.

For now, commuters are urged to seek alternative routes or plan for additional travel time, as the ripple effects of this collision continue to be felt on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Stay tuned for updates as authorities work towards resolving the aftermath of this early morning collision.
