Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, assumed leadership of the ministry a few days after Betta Edu, the minister, was suspended.
Enitan’s actions are in compliant with the directive issued by President Bola Tinubu, who on Monday suspended Edu due to the purported transfer of funds into personal accounts.
Following receipt of a letter to that effect from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, on Monday night, he assumed leadership.
Remember that President Tinubu had instructed the suspended Minister to “hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation” through his special adviser for media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
The President has further instructed her to fully cooperate with the investigating authorities as they carry out their investigation, according to the statement.
