Newly produced Nollywood series, “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre”, a spinoff from the hit movie, “Anikulapo”, premiered in Lagos on Sunday.
The premiere, held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, featured the main cast of the new series along with other A-list actors dressed in vibrant and stunning outfits.
“Anikulapo: Rise Of The Spectre,” a six-part epic series, is set to debut on Netflix on March 1, reaching audiences in over 190 countries worldwide.
Kunle Afolayan, the producer and director of the series, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success during the premiere. He acknowledged that “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre” has been in the works for eight years and is finally coming to fruition.

Afolayan thanked the divine for grace, knowledge, and wisdom, and expressed appreciation to the cast, crew, and supporters for believing in the project. He also expressed gratitude to his mother for her prayers and support. The series continues the story from where the movie left off, focusing on the life of Saro and his wife, exploring new adventures and challenges.

In the new instalment, Akala, the enigmatic bird that resurrected Saro, Kunle Remi, in the first part, returns, but its intentions are not as amicable as hoped for. The four-part series delves into themes of betrayal, revenge, and the quest for ultimate power, promising an intense storyline.
Filmed at the Kunle Afolayan Production, KAP, Film Village in Komu-Igbojaye, Oyo State, the series involved a cast and crew of 600 people, showcasing the scale and dedication behind its production.
Renowned comedian Gbenga Adeyinka hosted the event, which saw the attendance of esteemed actors such as Lateef Adedimeji, Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Femi Adebayo, Monalisa Chinda, Jaiye Kuti, Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan, and Gabriel Afolayan, among others.
