Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has announced key appointments and reassignments aimed at improving governance and boosting public service delivery in the state.
In a statement, his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, listed Jamila Magaji-Abdullahi as the new Accountant General and Muhammad Yahaya Liman as Director of Treasury.

“Akibu Isa Murtala has been elevated to the position of Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office, where he will oversee administrative coordination.
“Abubakar Sadiq has been reassigned as Deputy Managing Director of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency to focus on enhancing rural water supply and sanitation,” the statement read.
Gov. Yusuf also raised a strategic committee to revive the Kano State Transport Authority, Kano Line, with Sa’idu Abdullahi-Shu’aibu serving as the committee’s chair.
Its members are Bello Abdul from the Ministry of Public Procurement, Abdullahi Tukur from the Ministry of Works and Housing and Badamasi Suleiman. Kabiru Habibu Kyauta from the Special Duties Office will serve as the committee’s secretary.
Dawakin-Tofa quoted the governor as urging the appointees to approach their new roles with innovation, dedication, and accountability.
“These appointments and initiatives reflect the administration’s commitment to driving development, enhancing public services and positioning Kano State as a model of effective governance,” he added.
