Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in Group C at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, 2025.Â
The draw, which took place on Monday evening at the prestigious Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco.
Tunisia, one of Africa’s strongest footballing nations, will be Nigeria’s biggest challenge in the group.
Both teams have a rich history of success in the AFCON, and their encounter is expected to be one of the most eagerly anticipated matchups of the group stage.
With Tunisia’s tactical approach and solid squad, they will certainly provide a stern test for the Super Eagles.
Alongside Tunisia, Nigeria will also face Uganda and Tanzania, both of whom have shown flashes of promise in recent years but will likely be seen as less of a threat compared to the North Africans.
The draw ceremony also disclosed the other groups in the competition.
Hosts Morocco, who are hoping to make a strong impression on home soil, have been placed in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros.

Defending champions, the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire, have been placed in Group F, where they will face off against Mozambique, Gabon, and Cameroon.
For the Super Eagles, this competition will be an opportunity to improve on their performance from the last edition in Côte d’Ivoire, where they finished as runners-up.
After a valiant effort, Nigeria was narrowly defeated 2-1 by the host nation in the final.
The Super Eagles will be eager to go one step further and lift the coveted AFCON trophy once again, having last won it in 2013.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be held across nine stadiums in Morocco, with the opening match scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The tournament will culminate in the final, which will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
