Olawin, along with a TVC cameraman and another reporter, gathered at the IKEDC office to attend an event in Adiyan, Ogun State.

The reporters were forced to sit on the floor, and during the attack, Olawin’s Android phone, a small Itel phone, and a white power bank were confiscated. The assailants threatened to shoot him if he tried to speak.
The Military personnel, led by a female officer, held the IKEDC office for over an hour, physically abusing the staff and others present.
The roads leading to the office were blocked, providing the military men with free rein to harass those within the premises.
Sources later disclosed that the military personnel had targeted the IKEDC headquarters to express their frustration over the disconnection of power to their base.
Before leaving, they took engineers and drivers with them, insisting that they would be forced to restore the electricity supply to the barracks.
