The rise of Moniepoint as a fintech powerhouse has earned high praise from Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, who described it as a “fintech unicorn with a multibillion-dollar valuation.”

During a visit to Moniepoint Inc.’s United Kingdom offices, Tuggar highlighted the company’s rapid expansion and role in driving financial inclusion for millions of businesses.

The visit was part of a high-level working trip aimed at strengthening investor confidence and boosting Nigeria’s position in the global fintech space.

Tuggar commended Moniepoint’s workforce of over 2,000 employees and thousands of sales personnel, emphasizing its impact on Africa’s digital economy.

“Nigeria holds a strong position in the fintech and financial services sector,” he said. “With banks and fintech firms operating across Africa, we must continue instilling confidence in Nigerian businesses as they expand globally. Moniepoint exemplifies our fintech sector’s strength.”

He also acknowledged the firm’s ability to attract global investment from major players such as Google’s Africa Investment Fund, Visa, and British International Investment, BII, reinforcing its leadership in fintech.

Moniepoint Inc. CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to empowering business owners and fostering financial well-being across Africa.

“Nigeria’s dynamic digital landscape presents a unique opportunity to harness technology for meaningful change,” he said. “By equipping individuals and businesses with innovative financial tools, we believe technology can drive economic growth and social progress.”

Eniolorunda emphasized the role of international collaboration in advancing fintech innovation, noting that strategic partnerships can unlock new opportunities for local and global economies.

As Nigeria strengthens its standing as a fintech leader, Moniepoint remains committed to supporting trade, investment, and technology, ensuring sustainable growth in the digital economy.
