Speaking on Friday during a tour of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s projects in Onitsha, organized by supporters of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Alajemba praised Anambra’s clean environment, the facilities at Fun City in Awka, and the state’s scenic beauty, calling them ideal for entertainment industry practitioners. It used to be dirty, and insecurity was a big issue. But today, you can see the transformation, like the Ochanja Roundabout with its new water fountain,” he said, emphasizing the state’s new role as a business hub. He also mentioned that Anambra now offers excellent locations, modern houses, and improved security for filmmakers. “In fact, I’m currently shooting a movie here,” he added.
The actor commended Governor Soludo for his infrastructure development, noting that he now had no reason to criticize the administration. Alajemba, who began his career in 1987, is known for his roles in Igbo films and Pidgin. From humble beginnings as a barrow pusher and motorcycle rider, his breakout film, produced by Mike Orihedịmma, earned him the moniker ‘Ụwaezuoke,’ a name that has become iconic in Nollywood.
