A fraudulent academy promising financial success has been dismantled in Abuja, leading to the arrest of 133 individuals. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC carried out the operation on Monday at the Compensation Layout in Gwagwalada, targeting Q University, also known as Q-Net, for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme.

The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, stated that the commission acted on intelligence reports exposing the academy’s deceptive practices. The organization reportedly lured young Nigerians with promises of wealth through a program disguised as a financial empowerment scheme.

Q University operated under a training initiative called “Special Training for New Generation Billionaire,” misleading individuals into believing they would become billionaires upon completion. To enroll, participants were required to purchase an Independent Representative Application Form and were encouraged with motivational slogans such as “I’m a Champion,” “I’m Unstoppable,” and “I’m Infinity.”

In collaboration with the 176 Guards Battalion of the Nigerian Army, the EFCC executed the raid, seizing mobile phones, computers, and other electronic gadgets from the suspects. Investigators are currently reviewing the recovered items to gather further evidence of the fraudulent operations.

Many of the arrested individuals had been subjected to psychological manipulation, making them believe they were on the path to financial breakthrough. The scheme convinced participants to invest time and money in a program that offered no real financial benefits.

The anti-graft agency has confirmed that all suspects will face prosecution once investigations are concluded. Nigerians have been urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious financial schemes designed to exploit unsuspecting individuals.
