The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has appointed Dr. Iyingi Brown as the acting Head of Service.

Dr. Brown, who previously served as the Permanent Secretary of Welfare in the Office of the Head of Service, will hold the interim position until a permanent HoS is appointed.

Ibas made the announcement early Tuesday morning, also confirming the resignation of Dr. George Nwaeke, the former HoS, expressing regret over his departure.

He praised Nwaeke’s valuable contributions to the administration and wished him success in his future endeavors.

In addition, Ibas announced the appointment of Prof. Ibibia Worika as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government.

A statement issued in Port Harcourt explained that Worika’s extensive background in academia, international legal practice, and policy advisory roles made him an ideal choice for the position.

Ibas emphasized that Worika’s expertise will be crucial in supporting the Administrator to fulfill President Bola Tinubu’s mandate.

The appointment is effective immediately.
