The Kaduna State Government has commenced the construction of a new headquarters for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, marking a significant step toward strengthening security in the state.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Thursday at the Karji area along Yakowa Road in Kaduna. Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. James Kanyip, led the event. He described the project as a major investment in the safety and stability of the state.

Sani stated that his administration remains committed to security and development, and the allocation of land for the NSCDC headquarters demonstrates that commitment. He emphasized the crucial role of security agencies in ensuring peace, stability, and progress across the state.

The governor explained that the headquarters would provide NSCDC personnel with a modern facility that aligns with their mission of safeguarding national assets and maintaining public order. He described the project as a strategic investment in the welfare of security personnel, ensuring they have a conducive environment for their duties.

Highlighting the NSCDC’s contributions, Sani acknowledged their efforts in protecting public infrastructure, preventing security threats, and maintaining law and order in Kaduna State. He reassured the agency of the state government’s unwavering support in enhancing their operational capacity.

The governor emphasized that the new headquarters would improve operational efficiency, boost morale among officers, and ultimately enhance security service delivery. He expressed confidence that a well-equipped and well-structured facility would translate into better performance by security personnel.

Sani commended the Federal Government for including the project in its budgetary plans, stressing the importance of collaboration between state and federal authorities in addressing security challenges. He noted that such partnerships are essential in ensuring a safer environment for residents.

In his remarks, NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi, expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for its support. Represented by ACG Haruna Zurmi, the Zonal Commander of NSCDC Zone B, Audi reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to securing lives, property, and critical national assets.

Kaduna State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Muhammad Dansadau, also appreciated the state government for swiftly providing the land. He described the project as a milestone in strengthening the command’s operational efficiency and improving security services.

Dansadau assured the government and residents of Kaduna State that the NSCDC remains dedicated to collaborating with stakeholders to create a safer and more prosperous state. He pledged that the agency would continue working tirelessly to fulfill its mandate of protecting the people and national assets.
