Massad Boulos, a Senior Advisor for Africa from the United States Department of State, met with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday in Paris, France.

The meeting focused on several key issues, including regional security, peacebuilding efforts, and economic cooperation across the African continent.

One of the primary topics discussed during the meeting was the ongoing conflict in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC. President Tinubu and Boulos emphasized the importance of working with international partners to build a sustainable and lasting peace in the region.

The instability in Eastern DRC has been a significant concern for regional and global security, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peacekeeping efforts and diplomatic solutions.

In addition to regional security, the two leaders also discussed ways to expand economic opportunities in Africa, particularly through enhanced partnerships between Nigeria, the United States, and other African nations.

The meeting is seen as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s relationship with the United States, as both countries work together to address common challenges, including security and development.

Following the meeting, President Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the United States’ continued support in peacekeeping efforts across Africa and his hope for deepened bilateral ties that would benefit both nations and the broader African continent.
