Nollywood actress and producer Bimbo Ademoye has expressed outrage over the unauthorised use of her movie content by some YouTube channels.

In a post shared on her Instagram account, the award-winning actress described the act as intellectual property theft, citing the illegal use of her movie title and promotional poster.

She stated that the infringement had gone on for days and warned those involved to desist immediately.

Ademoye said she had discovered at least two YouTube channels using her content without permission, naming Nollynew Series TV and Nolly Specials.

The actress stressed that such actions would not go unpunished, as she is ready to take necessary steps to protect her work.

“Enough is enough!” she wrote. “I hate that I have to do this, but my blood, sweat, tears, hard work, money, sleepless nights will not be enjoyed by someone else.”

The visibly upset actress called on her fans and followers to report the channels, emphasising the unfairness of having her creativity exploited by others. “There are already two channels that have stolen my title and my poster for about two to three days now,” she said.

She further lamented the growing trend of online piracy affecting Nollywood productions. She narrated how a recent search for a film by fellow filmmaker Biodun Stephen returned more than 40 results using similar thumbnails and titles, reflecting a wider problem within the industry.

Ademoye stated firmly that she would not tolerate such infringements on her hard work. “This time, I will not take it. We did work day and night and one evil demon will come and reap where they did not sow,” she said.

Bimbo Ademoye is a prominent Nigerian actress and brand ambassador known for her impressive body of work in Nollywood.

She started her acting journey in 2014 with the short film Where Talent Lies and gained popularity with roles in Backup Wife and Personal Assistant.

Her talent and consistency have earned her several awards and nominations, including Best Lead Role at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Best Supporting Actress at the 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards.

She has continued to make significant contributions to the industry, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Recently, she starred in Broken Hallelujah, which is set to premiere on April 18. As a producer, she has executive-produced films such as The Homecoming, Fame and Fury, and Ruse.

Other works under her production credits include Unexpected Places and The Landlord. Her film Miss PJ premiered on Prime in November 2024, further showcasing her versatility and commitment to storytelling.

Ademoye remains a vocal advocate for protecting creative content and intellectual property in Nigeria’s entertainment sector. She continues to use her platform to raise awareness and call for stricter measures against digital piracy threatening the film industry.
