Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, signaling a major development in the Premier League club’s hunt for a reliable stricker.
Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler stated that, Osimhen has given his nod to a contract with United. However, the deal is far from complete, as Manchester United still needs to negotiate a transfer fee with Napoli, who currently own the player. Çelikler confirmed this during a podcast discussion, saying, “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter.”
Osimhen, on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has enjoyed an outstanding season, scoring 29 goals and providing 6 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. His performance has caught the attention of top European clubs, especially Manchester United, who are eager to bolster their attack due to Rasmus Hojlund’s inconsistent form.
United’s newly appointed manager, Ruben Amorim, is believed to be eyeing Osimhen as a potential replacement for Hojlund ahead of the summer transfer window.
While Osimhen has accepted personal terms, Napoli’s €75 million release clause is a potential hurdle. However, reports suggest the Italian club might be willing to negotiate, especially since they’re hesitant to sell him to domestic rivals like Juventus, who are also interested.
Another critical factor for Osimhen is UEFA Champions League qualification. The Nigerian star has made it clear that he wants to play in Europe’s top competition next season—a condition that could influence whether he joins United.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük revealed that United has offered Osimhen a £660,000 weekly salary before tax, making him the club’s highest-paid player if the deal goes through. Küçük added, “There is a high possibility that Osimhen will say goodbye (to Galatasaray), but there is no decision made at the moment. Juventus and Manchester United clearly want him. Their offer is a net €20 million per year.”
Despite this, Galatasaray is still trying to hold on to Osimhen. Vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu clarified that while Osimhen has spoken fondly of the club, he has not officially declared an intention to leave. “He said that Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he leaves, but he did not say he would leave. We want him to stay,” Hatipoglu stated.
When asked about the speculation, Osimhen remained reserved: “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now—both the club and my life here.”
Since his arrival at Galatasaray at the start of the season, Osimhen has thrived. His wages—reportedly between €10–11 million net annually—are currently shared between Galatasaray (€6 million) and Napoli (the remainder), making any long-term deal with the Turkish club financially challenging.
As talks continue and the summer window nears, all eyes remain on Victor Osimhen’s next move—and whether Manchester United can seal the deal to bring the Nigerian star to Old Trafford.
