Former Delta State Governor and 2023 vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has officially exited the party.
In a video message shared with his constituents on Wednesday, Okowa confirmed his resignation from the PDP but stopped short of announcing his next political affiliation.

The video, which featured Okowa speaking in his native language, emphasized that he and his supporters would “not go in the wrong direction” and would “choose the best path for our people.”
His defection comes just hours after current Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori also announced his departure from the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, fueling speculation that Okowa may be heading in the same direction.
