Stella Okotete, Executive Director of Business Development at NEXIM Bank and former APC National Woman Leader, has lauded Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a statement, she described the move as a “bold affirmation of vision, courage, and commitment to the development of Delta State through inclusive, progressive governance.

Okotete emphasized that Oborevwori’s entry into the APC signifies the party’s growing influence and capacity to unite leaders under a shared vision for growth and transformation.

She called on all APC members to embrace this new era with unity and purpose, setting aside divisive tendencies.

The defection also saw former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other prominent PDP leaders joining the APC, a move welcomed by several APC stalwarts, including Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo and Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje are scheduled to formally receive Oborevwori and other defectors in Asaba on Monday, April 28, 2025.

This political realignment is seen as a significant boost for the APC’s presence in the South-South region, potentially influencing future electoral outcomes and governance in Delta State.
