On July 29, operatives arrested a school security guard who later confessed to conspiring with a friend (still at large) to commit the crime.
He lured Anaene into the school bathroom and strangled her. The toddler was taken from a classroom and killed similarly.
The suspect then placed the bodies in a sack, used a scavenger’s cart to transport them, and dumped them in a canal.
He later led officers to the location, where the remains were recovered.
SP Adeh expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured that justice would be served.
She emphasized the police’s determination to fully investigate and prosecute those involved in the crime.
