The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, has fixed Thursday, October 9, 2025, for its annual conference scheduled to hold at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. The event will commence at 10:00 a.m.
Now in its ninth edition, the conference will explore the theme: “Reconciling Campaign Promises with Governance Realities: Challenges and Prospects.”
In a statement on Friday, GOCOP’s Publicity Secretary, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, said the event would serve as a platform for generating practical strategies to bridge the gap between electoral promises and effective governance in Nigeria and across Africa.
Danlami Nmodu mni, Deputy President of GOCOP and Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, noted that the 2025 edition will feature a distinguished keynote speaker alongside panel discussions with leading policy experts.

GOCOP recalled that its past conferences have attracted high-profile speakers including Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, who delivered the 2019 keynote on “Economy, Security and National Development: The Way Forward.” In 2021, then Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, addressed participants on Nigeria’s post-COVID-19 recovery efforts.
Other notable speakers have included Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who spoke in 2022 on election management, and Professor Uche Uwaleke, who in 2023 delivered a lecture on Nigeria’s socio-economic recovery roadmap.
Founded to uphold the tenets of ethical journalism in the digital age, GOCOP is a professional body of 119 member organisations led by seasoned editors and senior journalists who transitioned from traditional media to online publishing.
