Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adekunle Olopade has defended contestants of the ongoing season after several intimate scenes on the show sparked public reactions.

In a post on X on Sunday, Adekunle Olapade argued that the housemates are consenting adults and are not doing anything wrong by being attracted to one another.

He stressed that the show is rated 18 and that viewers should approach the scenes with this context in mind.

His comments followed reactions to moments involving Koyin and Isabella, Jason Jae and Sultana, as well as Mide and Bright Morgan.

A now-circulating clip of Koyin and Isabella, which appears to show an intimate moment, has sparked reactions from fans, who commented on their unusual position in the duvet.

For Jason Jae, he had earlier claimed that nothing could happen between him and Sultana because he was already in a relationship outside the show.

However, during Friday night’s wager task presentation, Sultana was captured on camera under a duvet with Jason, in what viewers speculated to be oral sex.

Viral clips showed Sultana’s head completely covered under the duvet while moving up and down, with Jason’s head visible.

Similarly, some weeks ago, Mide and Bright were caught sharing an intimate moment under the duvet.

The duo was seen closely cuddled in bed with suggestive movements, sparking significant online discussion.

Addressing viewers, Adekunle cautioned against image shaming and name-calling, noting that such behavior undermines the essence of the reality show.

He also pointed out the hypocrisy of some critics who may engage in similar behavior privately.

“The only sin big brother housemates actually commit is coming on the show to entertain you guys. I can’t believe the things I’m seeing on the TL. LOL.

“So, because consenting adults on a RATED 18 show who are clearly attracted to each other get intimate, that’s why you guys are coming up with all these think pieces? The amount of hypocrisy I’ve witnessed from you guys this week alone is very laughable.

“What do you guys really think happens when adults are left together in a confined space? Please let’s be real.

“Not one single person in that house has done anything wrong because they’re attracted to someone else. This image shaming, reputation damaging, name calling and things you guys are on, is exactly what is killing the show.

“The gag in all of this is, the people who are pointing fingers and quick to accusations actually do much worse, with multiple people infact, but because it’s not on national tv you think you’re all saints? You all better go to church and ask for forgiveness,” Adekunle wrote.
