Harry Kane has considered extending his stay with Bayern Munich the Bundesliga champions beyond 2027, suggesting that his long-held dream of returning to the Premier League has cooled.
The 32-year-old striker, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, has started the 2025–26 season in sensational fashion, scoring 18 goals in 10 appearances.
His prolific scoring has been key to Bayern’s early dominance in their title defence and has reignited talk of a contract extension.
Speaking ahead of England’s upcoming friendly against Wales and a World Cup qualifier in Latvia, Kane admitted he is “fully all in” at Bayern and open to discussing a longer-term deal.
“In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that,” he said. “I haven’t had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they arise, I would be willing to have an honest discussion.”
Kane, who has scored an incredible 103 goals in just 106 games for Bayern, said his decision will depend on how the team performs in the coming seasons.
“It depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together,” he noted. “Right now, we are in a fantastic moment, and I’m not thinking about anything else.”
When Kane left Tottenham two years ago, many expected him to one day return to England to chase down Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record of 260 goals. Kane, who left with 212 league goals, would still need 48 more to surpass Shearer’s milestone. But now, that ambition appears to have waned.

“If you had asked me when I first left, I would have said for sure I’d come back,” Kane explained. “Now, after being at Bayern for a couple of years, that feeling has gone down a little. But I wouldn’t say never — football changes quickly.”
Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund has praised Kane’s evolution since moving to Germany, saying the club is “probably witnessing the best version of Harry Kane there has ever been.”
Winning the Bundesliga title last season — Kane’s first major career trophy — has also fueled his determination. “After winning a title like I did last year, it could be easy to relax,” he said. “But it’s given me even more motivation to do more and be better. I want to win bigger trophies.”
Despite reports of a £57 million release clause in his contract, Kane’s focus remains firmly in Munich. His leadership and consistency have cemented his place as one of Bayern’s most vital players, and his evolving mindset suggests his future may remain in Germany longer than expected — even as Premier League fans continue to dream of his return.
