Funke Akindele’s Behind the Scenes distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, became West Africa’s fastest title to cross the N1 billion mark, achieving the feat in 19 days.
The milestone also makes Akindele the first filmmaker and director to deliver three consecutive films grossing one billion naira within a single calendar year.
In a celebratory Instagram post, FilmOne thanked audiences across West Africa for their support, describing the achievement as a historic moment for the film industry.
“Thank you West Africa. Another history has been made,” the distributor said, noting that the film has earned N1,109,463,846, including a record-breaking N129.5 million gross on Boxing Day.

‘Behind The Scenes’ explores the realities behind fame, focusing on success, generosity, public expectations and the emotional costs hidden beneath glamorous appearances.
With its record-breaking performance and position as the highest-grossing release of 2025, the film is expected to maintain strong momentum in cinemas nationwide.
