Nigerian Afrobeats star Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has shared a glimpse of his spiritual journey after posting a video of himself performing Umrah in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Raudhatul Jannah, often described by Muslims as the “Garden of Paradise,” is regarded as a sacred place for supplication and reflection during visits to the Prophet’s Mosque.

The singer accompanied the video with a short caption that read “Alhamdulillah,” a phrase commonly used by Muslims to express gratitude to God.

The post generated widespread reactions online, particularly as it follows a prophecy circulating on social media suggesting that the singer might convert to Christianity.

Asake’s Umrah pilgrimage is perceived by many as a personal manifestation of his Islamic religion, despite the fact that he did not directly address the rumours.

The development comes as he continues his global tour and prepares for new music releases.

The singer’s visit to Medina marks a reflective pause amid a busy international schedule. Fans noted that the serene setting of Raudhatul Jannah provided Asake a moment to engage in prayer, spiritual reflection, and introspection. Social media users flooded his posts with congratulatory messages and prayers, celebrating his dedication to faith.

Asake’s pilgrimage also comes at a time when the Afrobeats star is preparing new music releases. Observers have highlighted that many artists use spiritual retreats as a source of inspiration, suggesting that his Umrah experience may influence his upcoming works. Music enthusiasts speculated that themes of gratitude, resilience, and spirituality might feature in his next projects.

Despite circulating rumours about a potential conversion to Christianity, Asake’s visit to the holy site underscores his connection to Islam. Religious commentators online highlighted that his actions reflect personal devotion rather than public spectacle, reinforcing his commitment to faith. The pilgrimage serves as a reminder of the deeply spiritual dimension that often underpins the lives of public figures.

In addition to his religious observance, Asake engaged with local worshippers and visitors, sharing moments of prayer and reflection at the Prophet’s Mosque. While he did not make any official statements regarding the rumours, his followers interpreted the visit as a clear affirmation of his Islamic identity.

Ololade Ahmed, professionally known as Asake, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter who rose to prominence with hit singles that blend street-inspired lyrics with highlife and Afrobeat rhythms. He is celebrated for his energetic performances, distinct vocal style, and ability to fuse traditional Nigerian sounds with contemporary beats. Asake has gained international recognition, performing at major festivals and collaborating with global artists, solidifying his status as one of the leading figures in the Afrobeats genre.
