Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, has released the concert film of his acclaimed M$NEY live performance exclusively on Spotify, giving fans worldwide access to the one-night-only show staged at London’s historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

The concert film captures Asake’s first live performance of songs from M$NEY since the album’s release in May. The event featured four previously unreleased tracks and marked Spotify’s first full-length live album performance accompanied by an audio-only live album, with the video available exclusively on the streaming platform.

In a statement on Friday, Spotify said more than 2,000 fans attended the black-tie, invitation-only concert, including many of Asake’s top listeners on the platform.

The performance featured a live orchestra, a 40-member choir and renowned live band The Compozers, who accompanied the singer as he performed tracks from M$NEY.

The concert also made history as the first time an Afrobeats artiste headlined the iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, one of London’s oldest and most prestigious theatres.

To celebrate the release, Spotify hosted an exclusive premiere screening of the concert film at its newly opened Listening Lounge in central London.

Speaking about the project, Asake said the performance reflected the core themes of M$NEY, describing the project as a representation of gratitude, personal growth, and his spiritual and creative journey.

He said the album was inspired by gratitude to God and the experiences that have shaped him, adding that he hoped those emotions resonated with listeners.

The singer said M$NEY was created to connect with audiences beyond borders, noting that he wanted the album to evoke a strong emotional response through its music.

He added that while he would begin touring the album later in the year, the special performance was just one of the surprises he wanted to share with fans around the world.

Released in May, M$NEY explores themes of gratitude, prosperity, spirituality and ambition, and has enjoyed strong commercial success. The album topped streaming charts in more than 19 countries, including Nigeria, and peaked at No. 8 in the United States.

Following the album’s success, Asake was ranked the 15th biggest digital artiste globally by Kworb Data, placing him among the world’s leading music acts.
