Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has gifted his former signee, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, better known as Mayorkun, a Tesla Cybertruck.
Davido announced the gesture on Sunday through his Instagram Story, sharing a picture of the luxury electric vehicle and a message expressing his affection for the singer. “My gift to you. I love you #iammayorkun,” he wrote, while instructing an associate, “#babzii_chilling pls have it delivered 2moro.”
The singer did not reveal the value of the gift, but the vehicle is a Tesla Cybertruck, an all-electric pickup truck produced by American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla. The model is known for its distinctive angular design, stainless-steel exterior and advanced electric drivetrain.
The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the company’s most high-profile vehicles since its unveiling in 2019. It officially entered production in 2023, with deliveries beginning in the United States later that year. The vehicle is available in different variants, with prices varying based on specifications and features.

In the United States, the Cybertruck is priced between about $69,990 and $99,990, depending on the model and configuration. In Nigeria, the cost is significantly higher due to import duties, shipping expenses and other associated charges, with brand-new units estimated to sell between N200 million and N340 million.
The gift further highlights the long-standing relationship between Davido and Mayorkun, who joined Davido Music Worldwide in 2016 after being discovered by the Afrobeats star.
Mayorkun rose to prominence under the label with hit songs such as “Eleko”, “Mama” and “Che Che” before leaving in 2021 to pursue an independent career.
Since parting ways with DMW, Mayorkun has continued to maintain a close relationship with Davido, with both artistes frequently showing public support for each other.
The pair have also collaborated on several occasions, contributing to their reputation as one of the notable artist-mentor relationships in Nigeria’s Afrobeats scene.
