Nollywood actress Evan Okoro and her estranged husband, Erikife Fabian Chibuzor, have taken steps towards reconciliation after a bitter public marital crisis.
The latest development came after Okoro publicly apologized to her husband and acknowledged that she said hurtful things during their separation.
In an emotional video posted on social media, Evan Okoro addressed Chibuzor directly and apologized for the things she said during the period of their marital dispute.
She also described taking their relationship to social media as one of the biggest mistakes she made, saying the public nature of their dispute exposed their private issues to outside opinions.
Okoro said she wanted peace of mind and clarified that her apology did not necessarily mean she wanted to return to the marriage.
She urged people to learn from her experience and exercise caution when making private relationship matters public.
The actress and Chibuzor had previously endured a highly publicized marital crisis that began only months after their wedding in April 2025.
In August 2025, Evan Okoro accused her husband of threatening her life and said she had filed a petition with the police. She also alleged that he threatened to kill her if she left the marriage.
Okoro also complained about financial disagreements in the marriage. She alleged that Chibuzor became hostile after she refused to give him money from an advertising job she completed in Lagos.
She further claimed that he had become emotionally and physically distant and said their families had failed to resolve the problems.
Chibuzor did not publicly respond to those allegations at the time, based on reports published during the dispute.
The conflict resurfaced in April 2026 when Okoro shared screenshots of alleged WhatsApp conversations between herself and her husband.
She accused him of bringing another woman into their matrimonial home and claimed that he spent the night with the woman while leaving her alone.
Chibuzor reportedly denied cheating in the exchange, saying he only followed the woman to a room. Okoro then questioned why he stayed away from her for the night.
Months after the public fallout, however, Okoro changed her tone.
In her recent apology, she accepted responsibility for hurtful statements she made during the separation and asked her husband for forgiveness.
Shortly after the apology, Chibuzor shared a video showing himself with Okoro at what appeared to be a restaurant or lounge.

He accompanied the video with the message: “Pain will end, tears will stop, and doors will open, be patient and trust God.”
Chibuzor has now gone a step further with a personal apology to Okoro.
In his latest message, he addressed her as his “dearest and beautiful wife” and expressed regret over the pain he said he caused her.
He wrote:
“My dearest & beautiful wife, I’m writing this message because my heart is heavy with regret for the pain i have caused you…”
Chibuzor said he felt deeply hurt knowing that his actions had caused pain to his wife and described her as his partner, safe place and the person he valued most.
He admitted that he had taken her for granted and said he felt ashamed that his flaws had overshadowed their relationship.
He also accepted responsibility for his mistakes and promised to work on himself and become the husband she deserved.
Chibuzor acknowledged that their problems would not disappear overnight but asked Okoro to forgive him and give him an opportunity to repair the damage.
He ended the emotional message by declaring his love for her and apologizing to her.
The latest exchange marks a major shift from the public accusations that characterized their relationship over the past year.
While Okoro previously described the marriage as one she no longer wanted and raised serious allegations against her husband, her recent apology has brought a new chapter to the saga.
The couple’s recent appearances together and Chibuzor’s latest message have also sparked reactions from social media users, with many interpreting the developments as signs that the estranged couple may be working towards reconciliation.
However, neither Okoro nor Chibuzor has publicly provided a detailed account of the terms of any reconciliation or confirmed that they have formally resumed their marriage.
