The endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term by the Isoko Nation reflects growing recognition of his administration’s policies and reforms, the Delta Campaign Council has said.
The Secretary of the council’s Media/Publicity Committee, Dr Tonye Timi, said the endorsement also demonstrated confidence in the leadership and development policies of Tinubu and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Timi described Oborevwori’s endorsement at a grand reception held in honor of the governor and his wife, Tobore, at Isoko House, Oleh, as a significant milestone in Delta’s political landscape.
He said the development was particularly important given the Isoko Nation’s reputation for political consciousness, unity and coordinated voting patterns.
“The endorsement reflects growing recognition of the policy direction and reform initiatives of President Tinubu’s administration as well as the developmental strides being recorded in Delta under Gov. Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda,” he said.
Timi noted that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda had introduced major economic reforms aimed at repositioning the economy, strengthening public finances, attracting investment and establishing a sustainable foundation for national development.
He listed the removal of petroleum subsidy, foreign exchange unification and reforms to the national tax administration framework among the key interventions.
“These measures, although initially challenging, are intended to address structural weaknesses in the economy, improve revenue generation, strengthen fiscal sustainability and restore investor confidence.
“The administration has also recorded progress in infrastructure development, with major investments in road construction and rehabilitation, including the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and Sokoto-Badagry super highway.
“The expansion of domestic refining capacity is equally contributing to Nigeria’s energy security and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products,” he stated.

He added that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund had expanded access to tertiary education financing, while interventions in agriculture, healthcare, housing and consumer credit were creating opportunities for economic participation and social inclusion.
On Delta, Timi said Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security — provided the framework for inclusive development, infrastructure improvement, economic opportunities and institutional reforms.
He said the state government had prioritized roads, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, security and human capital development.
Among the notable projects, he cited the Emevor-Orogun Road Phase II and the completed Trans-Warri Road project, which includes 15 bridges and was awaiting inauguration.
He added that the projects would improve connectivity, commerce, mobility and economic development across the state.
Timi said interventions in healthcare and education, alongside the equitable distribution of projects across the three senatorial districts, reflected the people-centered approach of the MORE Agenda.
He stated that the initiatives offered the Isoko Nation an opportunity to benefit from stronger collaboration between the state and federal governments.
The endorsement, he said, went beyond its immediate political implications, highlighting the importance of unity, constructive engagement and cooperation between governments and communities across the South-South.
Timi also acknowledged the role of traditional institutions, the Isoko Development Union, political stakeholders and community leaders in articulating the aspirations of the people.
He said the endorsement could strengthen relations between the Isoko Nation and different levels of government while drawing sustained attention to the area’s priorities, including roads, electricity, healthcare, education, employment and economic empowerment.
“The most enduring measure of political leadership is its capacity to translate public confidence into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens,” he said.
Timi described the endorsement as a call to consolidate development gains, strengthen partnerships and improve the delivery of democratic dividends.
