As the nationwide indefinite strike organized by the Nigerian Labour Congress ,NLC, has been suspended, the World Stage Limited is moving forward with its planned Economic Summit scheduled for Thursday at the Event Center, Nigerian Exchange in Lagos.

The summit, themed “National Dialogue on Electricity,” is set to bring together major players in both the public and private sectors to discuss crucial issues within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry ,NESI. Key topics include power transmission needs, sustaining an electricity pool, meeting the nation’s energy needs across the entire value chain, and maintaining balance in gas supply for power generation.
Supported by prominent organizations such as Shell Nigeria, the Nigerian Communications Commission , NCC, Nigeria LNG Limited ,NLNG, Central Bank of Nigeria ,CBN , Zenith Bank Plc, and NNPC Limited, the WorldStage Economic Summit 2023 aims to foster dialogue and collaboration in the energy sector.
One notable component of the summit is a special breakout session titled “Startups on WorldStage,” focusing on “The Game Changers.” This session is designed for founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, and media to network and explore opportunities for advancing the startup ecosystem.
Confirmed speakers for the summit include Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa the MD/CEO, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, Engr. Aliyu Tahiri , MD/CEO, Nigerian Electricity Management Service Agency, and Engr Sule Abdulaziz , MD/CEO, Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Representatives from the organized private sector, including Mr. Dele Kelvin Oye (National President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture) and Dr. Michael Olawale-Cole ,President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are expected to contribute to the discussions.
The keynote address for the breakout session will be delivered by Mr. Aminu Maida (Executive Vice Chairman, NCC), with confirmed speakers including Mr. Tim Akano ,CEO, New Horizons Nigeria, and Mr. John Tani Obaro ,Group Managing Director, SystemSpecs Holdings.
