The Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi has stated that Africa’s stability and development are crucial to the future of humanity, urging the world to pay attention to the continent’s concerns.
Speaking at a news conference on China’s external relations during the Third Session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing, Wang described Africa as a “fertile land of hope” and emphasised that global modernisation would be incomplete without Africa’s progress.
He reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with all African countries that maintain diplomatic ties with Beijing.
Highlighting China’s support for Africa’s self-reliant growth, Wang stressed the need for international backing as the continent explores new development paths.
“This year marks the beginning of implementing the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and China stands ready to deliver on the 10 partnership actions,” he said.

China also aims to promote 1,000 livelihood projects, enhance governance experience sharing, and strengthen Africa’s voice in global affairs.
Looking ahead to 2025, Wang noted that the G20 Summit would be hosted in Africa for the first time, with China firmly supporting South Africa’s leadership in shaping global governance with an African perspective.
Over the past 25 years, China has helped Africa build or upgrade nearly 100,000km of roads and over 10,000km of railways. In the last three years alone, Chinese enterprises have created more than 1.1 million jobs on the continent.
Wang highlighted that China has remained Africa’s largest trade partner for 16 consecutive years, underscoring the tangible benefits of China-Africa cooperation.
“To African brothers and sisters, China-Africa cooperation is visible, tangible, and truly beneficial. China and Africa are good friends, good partners, and good brothers with a shared future,” he said.
