The Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Nasarawa State Government to improve access to quality basic education.

Executive Secretary of UBEC, Aisha Garba, made this known during a courtesy visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule, leading a high-level delegation to discuss educational development in the state.

During the visit, Garba inspected UBEC-funded projects and facilities, emphasizing the crucial role of state governments in implementing the Universal Basic Education  programme nationwide. Discussions centered on expanding educational opportunities, particularly for out-of-school children, and enhancing inclusive learning.

Governor Sule commended UBEC’s support in developing basic education in Nasarawa, highlighting key achievements such as the construction and renovation of schools, provision of learning materials, and recruitment of 2,000 teachers. He also assured swift processing of the Certificate of Occupancy for UBEC’s North-Central Zonal Office.

She also monitored financial activities at the State Universal Basic Education Board headquarters and assessed operations at UBEC’s North-Central Zonal Office.

Her visit concluded at the Modified Second Chance School in Akwanga, where she evaluated its impact on alternative education and suggested areas for improvement.

The visit reinforced UBEC’s commitment to sustainable education through collaboration, innovation, and effective policy implementation.
