President Donald J. Trump, 78, “remains in excellent health” and is “fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and the Head of State,” according to official result of his annual physical examination released by the White House.
The comprehensive assessment was conducted Friday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, by Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, a Navy physician who oversees the president’s medical care.
The evaluation included detailed cardiac, neurological, pulmonary, and general physical examinations, all of which showed Trump to have “robust function” across major systems of the body.
President Trump again achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used screening tool for cognitive impairment.
This mirrors his performance on the same test in 2018 and, according to medical experts, suggests stable and healthy cognitive functioning appropriate for his age.
Additionally, the president underwent psychological screening for depression and anxiety, which indicated “scores within the normal range for both,” suggesting no signs of mood or anxiety disorders, which are relatively common in older adults.
The report also disclosed that Trump underwent a routine colonoscopy in July 2024, as part of age-appropriate cancer screening protocols. The procedure revealed diverticulosis—a common, typically benign condition in older adults in which small pouches form in the walls of the colon.
A single benign polyp was also discovered and removed during the procedure. Pathology results confirmed it was non-cancerous. Based on standard guidelines, physicians have recommended a follow-up colonoscopy in 2027.

Cardiac evaluations showed no abnormalities. Trump remains on low-dose aspirin, a preventive measure often prescribed to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in individuals with certain cardiovascular risk factors.
He also continues to take two cholesterol-lowering medications, which have helped him maintain healthy lipid levels, according to the physician’s report.
The president has a history of minor sun damage and benign skin lesions, for which he uses a topical cream. His physician noted that these findings are typical for someone of his age and background, especially given prolonged exposure to sunlight over decades.
He remains up to date on all recommended adult vaccinations, including influenza, pneumococcal, shingles, and COVID-19 booster shots.
The report briefly referenced the scarring on Trump’s right ear, a lasting reminder of the assassination attempt against him, the details of which have been widely covered in past months.
Despite the scarring, his hearing has been evaluated as “normal”, and no impairments were noted.
Capt. Barbabella concluded the report by emphasizing that President Trump “exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health” and remains “fully capable of performing the rigorous demands” of the presidency.
The detailed findings appear intended to reassure the public amid ongoing questions about the fitness of aging political leaders in high office.
