Former President Muhammadu Buhari received a delegation of governors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday at his residence in Kaduna.
The governors, under the aegis of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, described the visit as a symbol of unity and reaffirmation of the party’s stability.
Chairman of the forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, spoke with journalists after a closed-door meeting, saying the visit was timely, especially after the Ramadan, Lent, and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
He explained that the governors came to pay homage to the former president, whom he described as a father figure and pillar of strength for the APC.
Uzodinma commended Buhari’s legacy, noting that his leadership helped build a cohesive political structure that enabled the APC to retain power at the national level.
He stressed that the party’s growth was tied to its ability to consult widely and prioritise national interests over personal ambitions.

He also pointed out that strong internal cohesion and effective leadership were essential to the party’s sustained relevance and electoral victories. The visit, he said, was a testament to the solidarity within the APC and a clear message that the party remains the most formidable political force in Nigeria.
Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, who hosted the meeting, described Buhari as not only a political leader but also a statesman who commands the respect of politicians and ordinary citizens alike.
He said people from all walks of life visit Buhari, a gesture that reflects the former president’s continued influence and goodwill among Nigerians.
The governors expressed satisfaction with Buhari’s health and appreciated the time spent with him. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the APC and ensuring that it remains united, resilient, and capable of delivering good governance across the country.
