The City Boy Movement has strongly refuted allegations that its Grand Patron,Seyi Tinubu, was behind an attempt to disrupt the inauguration of a faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS.
In a statement released Friday in Lagos, Director-General of the group, Francis Shoga, described the accusations as “baseless, malicious, and fabricated to tarnish Tinubu’s image.”
This comes after Atiku Isah, a factional president of NANS, alleged that Seyi Tinubu orchestrated a shutdown of his inauguration venue in Abuja, claiming interference in student affairs.
In response, Shoga condemned the remarks, accusing Isah’s camp of launching a smear campaign without evidence.

He also dismissed sensational claims that individuals were assaulted or humiliated, describing them as “staged theatrics” meant to stir public sympathy and discredit the President’s son.
“The City Boy Movement is aware of false claims that our Grand Patron, Seyi Tinubu, mobilised thugs to disrupt unauthorised NANS inauguration events,” said Shoga. “These unfounded accusations are designed to exploit his name for attention.”
Shoga reiterated that Seyi Tinubu remains committed to youth empowerment and constructive engagement, not meddling in the internal affairs of student unions.
He warned that legal steps would be taken against further attempts to malign Tinubu.
