The Plateau State Police Command has debunked claims of a human parts market in the state, assuring residents that cases of ritual killings remain minimal.
Speaking in Jos, the command’s spokesperson, Alfred Alabo, stated that there was no intelligence report suggesting the existence of such a market. However, he acknowledged the disturbing activities of internet fraudsters, commonly known as Yahoo boys, who engage in ritual killings under the influence of native doctors.
“Most of these Yahoo boys kill and harvest human parts for rituals, believing it will enhance their wealth and protect them from arrest,” Alabo said.

He also noted a rise in crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and cultism, urging residents to remain vigilant.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Plateau, called on religious leaders to intensify efforts in preaching against ritual killings. He also urged parents to guide their children away from cultism and fraudulent activities that lure them into such gruesome acts.
Authorities reassured the public of their commitment to tackling crime and maintaining security across the state.
