Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group, NNMG, have congratulated the newly elected leaders of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, describing their emergence as a triumph of professionalism and integrity in Nigeria’s online media industry.
The newly elected executive are Danlami Nmodu as President, Sufuyan Ojeifo as Secretary-General, and Kemi Yesufu as Publicity Secretary, alongside other officers who will serve in various capacities for two years.
Their election Thursday has been widely commended as peaceful, credible, and reflective of the Guild’s growing reputation for internal democracy.
Governor Adeleke, in a statement released by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, praised the new GOCOP leadership for their dedication to ethical journalism and credible reportage.
He noted that their emergence marks “a testament to professionalism, integrity, and the growing strength of the Nigerian online media space.”
“I warmly congratulate the newly elected leaders of GOCOP, particularly Mr. Danlami Nmodu as President, Mr. Sufuyan Ojeifo as Secretary-General, and Ms. Kemi Yesufu as Publicity Secretary. Their victory is well-deserved and reflects the confidence their colleagues have in their ability to lead with transparency, fairness, and dedication,” Adeleke said.

Similarly, the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group, through its convener Jacob Edi and Kakaaki Bassange, extended warm congratulations to the newly elected officers, describing them as professionals whose credibility and track record speak volumes about their commitment to responsible journalism.
“Their emergence is a strong affirmation of the trust and confidence reposed in their integrity, competence, and commitment to ethical journalism,” NNMG stated.
The group called on the new GOCOP leadership to set clearer standards for online media practice and eliminate the influence of unverified platforms and quacks that continue to undermine public trust.
NNMG further encouraged the executives to use their positions to foster national unity and inclusion, promoting narratives that educate, enlighten, and bridge divides across Nigeria’s diverse communities.
Both Governor Adeleke and NNMG expressed confidence that the new GOCOP team would steer the Guild toward innovation, inclusivity, and excellence—ensuring the online media remains a credible pillar of democracy and a driver of informed national discourse.
